Getting Organized

1. Store Your Weekly DinnerPlan.

Every Friday before noon EST, you’ll receive an email with a link to your member area, where you can download that week’s DinnerPlan. It was designed to fit your smartphone, so download it there and save it to your iBooks on your phone. We suggest moving your iBooks App to your phone’s home screen so that your DinnerPlan is always at your fingertips.

No more grocery shopping without a shopping list, it’s right there on your phone.

The DinnerPlans will always be saved in your member area as well.

2. Clean Up Your Fridge

Download Mari’s Life-Changing Fridge Make-over here.

If it’s not gold, it goes–just get rid of it. That grated Parmesan cheese hiding in the back, it’s gone. That ancient box of baking soda, gone.

Pull out the shelves and give them a good wash. Follow Mari’s fridge make-over guide attached above. Give that fridge a big hug—it’s just become your best friend!

Check out our Amazon Shop for Fridge organization tools, you can order and get started today.

3. Detox Your Pantry

Stocking your pantry is one of the most important factors to successful kitchen organization. Think lean and fresh: get rid of anything that’s been in there for more than a few months.

No imposters, please! Remove all processed foods like store-bought sauces, soups, chilis, dips, dressings, and pre-made taco mix. We’re going to replace your pantry with only real ingredients. (Okay, you can leave the chips and popcorn. Mama’s got to have her treat!)

Over the weeks ahead we’ll replace only what you need—and show you the simple recipe for the only tomato sauce you’ll ever need.

For day-to-day cooking, we’ll be using fresh basil, thyme, cilantro, parsley, sage, rosemary, and dill. When it comes to dry spices, you shouldn’t keep any dry spices for more than six months—after that, they begin to lose their flavour. We’re also not a fan of pre-mixed spices, we’ll teach you how to cook with authentic, natural spices and if you need to blend spices, we’ll do it at the time of cooking. You may be tempted to buy spices in bulk, however, you never know how long those spices have been in the bins, so we suggest buying sealed spices and transferring them into your labeled spice jars.

Again please source our Amazon Shop which we update regularly.

4. Check Your Kitchen Tools

I always say a good cook doesn’t really need many special tools, but as I’ve learned cooking is so much more enjoyable when you have a collection of good-quality kitchen tools. My knife bar makes me feel like a Chef, and my Le Creuset cast iron skillet was an investment, but it’s like new and I use it every single day.

A sharp Chef’s knife and paring knife are game changers, and a few good quality pots, yes. The Microplan and lemon reamer are non-negotiable, but gimmicks like garlic press–get rid of them.

We’ve put together a list which we update regularly, of our favourite kitchen tools which you can easily order from our Amazon Shop.
